My treks out into the wilds are about much more than making photographs. The natural world sustains me with its beauty. While I do travel with my camera in hand, the intent of my daily outings is to practice seeing, listening, opening to awe. I possess a high reverence for nature, which I hope is evident in my work. For me, immersing myself in nature is a patient engagement with something beyond what is visible. It takes time to settle in, to observe what lessons nature has to offer. My art is the process I use to have that conversation. As an artist, I seek to illuminate the elusive self by engaging directly with the beauty of the natural world. What I have discovered through experiencing nature in this way is an intimate connection and innate belonging which transcends the personal to all of creation.  Through my work, I invite you to connect deeply with the truth of your own personal experiences while opening to the possibility of a new reality. May you get a taste of the beauty, freedom, and connection that the natural world holds and perhaps remember your place in the whole. Surround yourself with beauty.
